A beautiful and furious collection of truth

Excerpt

Cove

Floating
Suspended
Beyond machinery
And space
The moon
Caressed the clouds
Above
Beneath
Beside
Encompassing
And cascading
Its brilliant
Light
Across the
Earth beneath
Heaven enveloped
My vision
As in a fairy tale
As in an imaginary
World, I never
Could pen
Into accuracy
On an evening
Such as we
Collided
To be reminded
Beauty
Surpasses
Immobilization
I feared to breathe
So entrenched
I became
In wonder

I cautiously
Greeted
The twilight
Lit beneath the
Stars
And whispered
My gratitude
Towards the gates
For welcoming
Me in.

Eyes

I am the fly on the wall,
I see things that make skin crawl,
I have been here for many years,
I’ve heard your secrets, I know your fears.

I’ve seen people come and people go,
Men trying to walk tall,
But what I see, no one can know,
I am the fly on the wall.

Fall, winter, summer, spring, the seasons pass like days,
I’ve been frozen by blizzards, deafened by thunder and blinded by sun rays,
But through the harshness of the elements, I will never fall,
Like a sentry at my post, I am the fly on the wall,
I’ve seen your very best, I’ve seen your very worst,
I know what you’re about to do- because I was here first.

If you think you’re all alone; and you know it all,
Remember you’re never truly alone; I am the fly on the wall.

Hurricane

Track the storm
Though it is out to sea
The chaos surely comes
Do not be ignorant
Of the way the gusts
Can replace you
In your comfort
And destroy your
Disillusionment
We are but a breath
No shelter
Or man-made
Evacuation
Will release you
From the hurricane
It categorizes
Everyone
And does not diminish
Despite your protests
You are not immune
So, play in the rain
And jump in the puddles
Of your days
Rejoice in droughts ending
And soak in rays of unfolding sun
But when the siren sounds
Be sure you know
For who you stand.
